This year marks the 100thanniversary of Family Ministries in the Adventist Church. Recently, in the Yoshkar-Ola Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Yoshkar-Ola Russia, nine people were baptized. Most of those baptized first attended the “Ecological and Soul Ecology” program run by the Adventist Church’s health food store and café Lentil.

Ted N.C. Wilson, president of the Seventh-day Adventist world church, invited the governor of Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul to seek wisdom from God in handling a regional economic crisis, and the governor thanked the Adventist Church for improving people’s lives in his state.

Those who circulate daily around the Santarém bus station, in downtown streets and neighborhoods have noticed men, women and children speaking an unknown language.  Women draw attention with their long dark hair and skirts, and colorful dresses. All are part of the Venezuelan indigenous community of the Warao ethnic group, who have migrated to the city of Santarém in search of a better quality of life.
