27.06.25 | Living According to the Original | HEART ANCHOR | Youth Devotional

June 26, 2025 By admin

🗓 27.06.2025 | Living According to the Original | HEART ANCHOR
🌱 Why God’s Pattern Is Better Than Any Copy
📖 Hebrews 8:5

⸻

📖 Bible Text

“See to it,” he said, “that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
Hebrews 8:5

⸻

🌿 Introduction

Have you ever tried assembling an IKEA piece of furniture without the instructions? It might look simple at first—but in the end, you’re left with five extra screws and a crooked shelf. Why? Because you didn’t follow the plan.

In a similar way, God warns Moses: “Look carefully! Build everything exactly as I showed you on the mountain.” This isn’t just any sentence—it’s found right in the middle of the book of Hebrews, in a deep section about God’s plan for humanity. But what does this have to do with us young people today?

⸻

✨ Devotional

The author of Hebrews refers to a scene from the Old Testament. Moses is on Mount Sinai—very close to God. And what does he receive? A heavenly blueprint. God shows him a vision of the heavenly sanctuary and says:

“Build the earthly tabernacle exactly as I show you.”

Why such precision? Because it wasn’t just a tent—it was a shadow of the heavenly reality. The earthly sanctuary was a symbol of something deeper: Jesus Christ, who now serves in the heavenly sanctuary—right now, in this moment.

God isn’t a God of vague suggestions. He’s a God with a precise plan—for the universe, for salvation, and for your life.

📚 Quote from Ellen White (from “The Acts of the Apostles”, p. 15):

“God requires of His people now as He did of ancient Israel, that they obey His instructions with exactness. There is no small matter in deviating from the pattern He has given.”

That sounds serious—but it’s also full of hope. Because God not only shows what not to do—He shows the way forward. And He says to you:

“Don’t build your life on your own ideas—build it according to the image I show you.”

⸻

📝 Story

Tom, 17 years old, was always the kind of guy who went his own way. Rules? Only if they made sense. Christian faith? Nice idea, but not really relevant.

At a youth camp, a pastor said to him:

“You know, Tom, God has a blueprint for your life—do you want to see it?”
Tom laughed:
“Is it available as a PDF?”
But the question stuck.

A few weeks later, Tom began reading the Gospel of John. Then Hebrews. The words hit him hard: Jesus isn’t just some religious figure—He’s the Way, the Truth, the Life.

Tom started to pray—for the first time, honestly.
In a quiet moment, he felt strongly:

“I don’t want to build my own version anymore. I want to discover the real plan.”
Today Tom says:
“I’m not perfect. But I know who holds the plan—and I want to stick with Him.”

⸻

🧠 Reflection – What Does It Mean for You?

  • Are you following your own blueprint—or asking God for His?

  • What “copies” might you be following that don’t match the original?

  • God showed Moses a heavenly pattern. Have you ever asked God what His image of your life looks like?

God invites you: Look carefully! Be intentional. Don’t build your life by accident—build it with purpose, according to His design.

⸻

💡 Action Steps for Today

✅ Imagine God showed you a picture of your life today. What would be in it? Ask Him in prayer.
✅ Read Exodus 25–31: What does God’s precision tell you about His character?
✅ Think about a decision you’re facing—what would it mean to follow God’s plan instead of your own?

⸻

🙏 Prayer

Father in Heaven,
You gave Moses a clear vision. You didn’t leave him in the dark—and You don’t want to leave me in confusion either.
I give You my heart, my plans, my paths.
Show me what my life could look like according to Your image.
Help me to be attentive—not just to build randomly, but to build with You.
I want to follow Your blueprint, step by step.
Thank You for being near.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Inside Story: “Let’s Make a Deal”

June 26, 2025 By admin

Inside Story for Friday 27th of June 2025

By Laurie Denski-Snyman

Maria was happy when a homeowner invited her in to look at the books that she was selling in a non-Christian country in Southeast Asia. Maria pulled several health books from her bag, but the man stopped her.

“I see what you’re doing,” he said. “You’re bringing out the lighter, more neutral books first, and after I drop my guard, you’re going to bring out the Christian books that you really want me to see. I know your intentions, so share the Christian books first.”

Maria sent up a silent prayer. “Lord, please help me,” she said. “I don’t know what to say.” Out loud, she said, “I have several books on health and religion. I want to share whatever people want to see. If they have an interest in health, I share those books. If they have an interest in religion, I’m happy to share those books, too.”

The man rubbed his chin. “Let’s make a deal,” he said. “If I can ask questions about your religion and you can answer them, I’ll buy all of your books.”

Maria felt anxious. She took a deep breath and said, “I’m not wise enough to answer anything that you ask. I need help. May I pray first?”

The man agreed. Maria prayed out loud. She asked for wisdom and knowledge, and she ended the prayer in the name of Jesus.

Immediately, the man asked, “We say Jesus was a prophet, but you say He is a God. Why do you say that? How can a mere man become God?”

Without pausing, Maria said, “Many people think that Jesus only started to live when He was on earth as a baby, but He was around years before that. Jesus was part of the Godhead, and God sent Him to this earth in the form of a baby as a regular human being. Then Jesus was called to be a prophet, then He was called to be a sacrifice, and then He was called to be a high priest. So right now, He is interceding for our sins. Jesus is not just a prophet. He was called to be more than a prophet. He is a high priest—not just for me but for all who accept Him.”

The man put his head in his hands. “That is about the nicest thing I’ve ever heard,” he said.

That was his first and only question. With tears in his eyes, he bought every book that Maria had. As they bid each other goodbye, he said, “You really explained to me what I wanted to know. Now I look forward to reading all your books.”

Pray for Maria and other missionaries seeking to reach unreached people groups in the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, where this story took place. Maria is a pseudonym. Thank you for your Thirteenth Sabbath Offering this Sabbath that will help spread the gospel in the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.
