Seventh-day Adventist leaders in Nassau, The Bahamas, are still waiting to know the fate of the hundreds of members who have been affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian on the hardest hit islands of Abaco, Grand Bahama, Bimini and the Berry Islands.  The Category 4 hurricane pounded the northern Bahamas for over 40 hours starting on Sep. 1, packing winds of over 185 miles per hour, flooding the islands, stranding residents and killing at least seven people.

Every year, Catholic pilgrims leave their homes throughout Minas Gerais, Brazil, to walk to the city of Romaria for one of the greatest religious festivities in the state, which takes place on August 15. Some of these pilgrims start walking as early as August 1st.
