In this video, Pastor Ted Wilson talks about a special webinar from Adventist Possibilities Ministries titled, "Finding Joy in Suffering: Grieving for a Loved One." As followers of Christ, we have been given the enormous privilege of reaching everyone—"every nation, tribe, tongue, and people," according to Revelation 14:6. And while this charge may seem quite straightforward, it is sometimes easy to overlook those who may have challenges that are different from what we personally might experience–those who have challenges hearing or seeing, those who are emotionally or mentally challenged, the orphans and other vulnerable children, the widowed, and those who care for people who are facing these various challenges. How can we reach these dear ones, include them into our community of believers, and encourage them? Adventist Possibilities Ministries, sometimes referred to as "Special Needs Ministries," is an inclusive ministry of the church, with the motto of "All are gifted, needed, and treasured!" To draw attention to this very important ministry, each year a special Sabbath is designated as "Possibility Ministries Awareness Day." And this year, Sabbath, April 24, has been set aside for this purpose. During this day, Adventist Possibilities Ministries will be providing a very timely and important webinar titled, "Finding Joy in Suffering: Grieving for a Loved One." This past year has been exceptionally painful as so many lives have been lost due to the coronavirus. In addition, individuals and families around the world have suffered many other types of losses–the loss of a job, loss of security, and more. While a webinar will not erase the hurt, we can learn to press together and find that which will bring us lasting hope and perhaps a unique kind of “joy.” You can join this free webinar as those with special expertise and those who have suffered their own loss share how they have learned to face the future without a loved one. For more information regarding broadcast times, and to join the webinar, visit: possibilityministries.org/finding-joy-in-suffering. This is one of many special services that Adventist Possibilities Ministries provides, helping everyone to know that they are not alone. Please know that you are not alone! Pornography [What Are the Dangers?]
With all of us staying home during the pandemic, this can lead to increased problems with mental health and addiction. Including pornography. More and more studies are coming out about the dangers of pornography and its impact on relationships and mental health. This week on ANN In-Depth we look into what these dangers are and how we can help someone that's struggling. This week, we are joined by Pastor Bernie Anderson. For years, Pastor Anderson battled behind closed doors with pornography and sexual addiction. Exposed to pornography early in life, he was held captive by the addiction until he allowed God to transform his life. SHOW NOTES

New General Conference Session set for January 2022; and other world news
Here are inspiring updates from the Adventist News Network: During the virtual 2021 Spring Meeting on April 13, the General Conference (GC) Executive Committee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church voted to hold a Special General Conference Session on January 18, 2022. The special one-day, one-item GC Session was agreed upon to amend the GC Constitution that provides for a virtual or hybrid GC Session. The motion allows delegates to participate by digital means in a future GC Session if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances arise. The plan is timely as the global COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge large gatherings and travel. The General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists’ finances are not spared by the global economic turmoil caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But by God’s provision and leading, the world headquarters continue to work and serve. Through prayers and prudent actions by church leadership, the GC’s Net Assets without Donor Restrictions grew by USD 67,816. The lower expense level was not achieved without pain, though. The General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists needed to reduce personnel, eliminate services, and cut unnecessary costs. You can read the full Treasury report here. Juan Rafael Prestol-Puesán, treasurer of the Adventist Church since 2015, formally announced his retirement on August 1, 2021. His denomination service spanned almost 50 years, beginning in 1969 when he worked as an accountant in the Dominican Conference. He has served in three world divisions. In 1972, he became Treasurer of the North Dominican Mission. After graduating with his MBA at Andrews University in 1980, he served as treasurer of the Greater New York Conference, Atlantic Union Conference, Euro-Asian Division, and North American Division before joining the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as an Undertreasurer in 2007. He thanks his colleagues for their trust and support over the years. Meanwhile, in the Caribbean, La Soufrière, the highest mountain peak on St. Vincent and the Grenadines island, erupted on April 9, affecting more than 20,000 people. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) works with local authorities to coordinate relief efforts such as shelters and meals. At least 10 Adventist schools and churches are designated as official shelters to house evacuees. To assist with ADRA’s emergency response in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, visit ADRA.org/Disasters.
