Legalism vs Grace [Navigating Between the Two]

June 7, 2021 By admin

How can we navigate between legalism and grace? Many of us believe that we are covered by God's grace, but some believe that we have to do works to fully be acceptable before God. This video will help you understand where you find yourself in this journey between legalism and grace. Our guest this week is Jill Morikone. Jill serves as the Vice President/COO of 3ABN and she is passionate about sharing the Word of God. 3ABN is the family of networks that contains original programming designed to reach into the hearts and lives of each listener, addressing their everyday problems and most urgent needs, and sharing the good news of salvation by grace through Christ, and His soon return. 00:04:08 – 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10 00:04:35 – Galatians 3 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians+3&version=NKJV
00:22:02 – Romans 6 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+6&version=NKJV
00:24:10 – But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Romans 7:17
00:24:55 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
00:27:48 – Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled Hebrews 12:14-15
00:33:57 – Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13
00:42:35 – For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
00:44:09 – For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[a] Father.” Romans 8:15
00:45:11 – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
00:45:23 – Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 ___

Protein Chemistry: How Does it Prove That God is an Intelligent Creator?

June 6, 2021 By admin

What is protein chemistry and does it help us understand intelligent creation? Biochemistry investigates the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. Combining biology and chemistry, Biochemists can understand and solve biological problems by applying chemical knowledge and techniques. Listen as Dr. Isabel de Moraes, a biochemist, explains how she sees God as an intelligent creator and how science can help us understand the incredible structure of God's creation, the human body, and how membrane proteins helped her faith grow. Learn more about how science and a Biblical worldview can coexist together by visiting the GeoScience Research Institute at https://www.grisda.org/ Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc_JvhXQQ08

Sudan’s Minister On Religious Affairs meets with Adventist Leaders; and other world news

June 4, 2021 By admin

This week on ANN. On Monday, May 24, president of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church, Ted N.C. Wilson and several selected delegates from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists met with the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments for the Republic of Sudan, Naserldeen Mofarih. Mofarih was joined by Amira Agarib, deputy chief of Mission at the Embassy for the Republic of Sudan, and Putrus Komi, advisor for Christian Affairs to the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments. Mofarih’s visit stems from the country’s desire to reintegrate into the international cooperation of nations. In Mexico, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) recently distributed dozens of large water tanks, pumps, and hoses to 165 families who were severely affected by forest fires in the La Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains in March. The initiative was part of a project that sought to assist families who lost water service in their homes in the Nuevo Leon and Coahuila states. Every conference in Australia and New Zealand united to distribute Hope for Troubled Times, a sharing book written by Adventist evangelist Mark Finley. Conferences and local churches had the option of distributing the book at any time during May or specifically handing it out on May 15, which was designated as Impact Day. In Amazonas, Brazil, dozens of people were involved in recording the first Christian production shot. “I No Longer Live” takes place amid the COVID-19 pandemic and portrays the life of 19-year-old student Esthefany da Silva Maiah, her daily life, and her participation in the Pathfinder Club. After Esthefany discovered that she had lupus, her life was marked by many changes and the desire to make a difference in the lives of the people she lived with. Living with the complications of the disease, Esthefany started writing her reflections and projects in a journal that her father gave her. From that diary, the movie was born. Seventh-day Adventists across ten islands in the North Caribbean region recently joined forces to provide urgent assistance to the hundreds of people displaced by the eruptions of the La Soufriere volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadine. The volcano sent lava streaming down the mountain and engulfed the southeast Caribbean’s atmosphere with toxic ash last month. As a result, more than 20000 people were displaced and unable to return to their homes on April 9, 2021. It is Written has announced a brand-new children’s evangelism resource: Buried Treasure. Buried Treasure is produced by My Place With Jesus, It Is Written’s ministry for children. The comprehensive, 21-day program is specially designed to minister to children during an evangelistic series, Vacation Bible School, Sabbath School, or similar event. Each resource is designed to teach children the same Bible truths shared with adults in an evangelistic series. Find out more at It Is Written. In Brazil, teachers at Colégio Adventista de Vitória in Espírito Santo received emotional support as part of ‘The Pedagogical Parads,’ a dedicated room within the school that offers educational guidance and emotional support for the staff. In addition, the center included a living room with ambient lighting and aromatherapy to promote relaxation. Looking for more current events and inspiring stories within the Adventist community? Bible Study [God Will Help You Reach the World Through Scripture – Pastor Wilson]

June 3, 2021 By admin

How will God help you reach the world? In this video, Pastor Ted Wilson will be looking at a very interesting story found in the book of Acts, chapter 8, beginning in verses 26-28: "Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, 'Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.' This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet." There are several interesting points from this passage. First, it says that "an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip." Who was Philip? He was not one of the twelve disciples, but we know he was a faithful follower of Jesus who served as one of the first deacons of the early church. And who was the Ethiopian? Although we don't know his name, we do know several things about him. He was a high official in the court of Queen Candace of Ethiopia. This man had "come to Jerusalem to worship," and now as he was returning home, he was reading from the scroll of Isaiah. In fact, Acts 8:32-33 tells us what passage from Isaiah the man was reading: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He opened not His mouth. In His humiliation His justice was taken away, and who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth." As the Ethiopian was contemplating this passage, trying to understand it, the Holy Spirit spoke to Philip: "'Go near and overtake this chariot.' So, Philip ran up to the moving chariot and asked the Ethiopian, "Do you understand what you are reading?" And the man answered, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" and invited Philip to join him in the chariot where they had a wonderful Bible study. We don't know how long that Bible study in the chariot was, but we do know that by the end the Ethiopian official declared, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" (Acts 8:37) and was baptized. Today there are thousands of people like the Ethiopian official who are searching for truth. They may have heard things about the Bible, or perhaps are trying to read it, but without understanding. We are told, "A large number of precious souls are groping in darkness, yet longing and weeping and praying for light" (Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 65). Are you willing to go to bring them light, helping them to understand the truth found in the Scriptures, as Philip did? Just as the Lord provided everything Philip needed to reach the Ethiopian man, He will provide everything you need to help people understand the Scriptures. The world church emphasis for this coming Sabbath is: "Reach the World through Bible Study." Led out by the General Conference Department of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries, this is a wonderful opportunity to utilize the many excellent resources available to enhance our own understanding of the Scriptures, particularly through the Sabbath School, where we study the Bible each week, and through offering Bible studies through Bible correspondence schools, online Bible studies, as well as small group and individual studies. For more information, visit: sabbathschoolpersonalministries.org May God bless you as you partner with Him in reaching the world through Bible study!
