Pride is the first sin. Where does the Bible say that pride started? In the heart of Lucifer. Lucifer is an angel. He lived in the courts of heaven. But then his heart was filled with pride. So, God tells Lucifer what will happen to him: “ ‘Your beauty made you proud. Your glory [praise and honor] ruined [destroyed] your wisdom. So I [will throw] you down to the ground, and now other kings stare at you’ ” (Ezekiel 28:17, ERV). Pride causes Lucifer to sin. Then God throws Lucifer out of heaven. Now Lucifer, or Satan, causes pride in men. He turns them against God. In this way, Lucifer destroys humans. We are all sinners. We depend on God for life itself. All our gifts come from God. So do all the good things we do with God’s gifts. That is why we should not let our hearts become full of pride. We should not brag about anything we do. It takes a long time for Nebuchadnezzar to understand this truth. You will remember that he sees the 4th man in the hot oven. That 4th man is Jesus. But does that change Nebuchadnezzar? No! So, God removes his kingdom. God makes the king live with animals. Then the king finally changes. Sabbath School Lesson 5: https://bit.ly/2yaQR2O Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YCCYSTS5-s

Sabbath School Lesson: The Power and the Glory of God
Ellen G. White says, “The stars travel in special circles in outer space. God’s plans are the same as stars. God does not rush or hurry His plans. He does
not delay what He says He will do. His promises happen right on time.”—The Desire of Ages, page 32, adapted. Kingdoms rise to power, then fall. Everything in history looks as if it happens because of human power. But Daniel 2 shows us that God controls human history. He moves human history to its final end. Sabbath School Lesson: From a Furnace to a Palace
“ ‘If you throw us into the hot furnace [oven], the God we serve can save us. And if he wants to, he can save us from your power’ ” (Daniel 3:17, ERV). “With these words, [Daniel 3:17], Daniel’s three friends show their faith to the whole kingdom of Babylon. These three young men show that the God they worship is the only true and living God. Their strong stand for God shows their beliefs. These three young men show their love for God. They show their obedience. They show they are willing to die for God. Their faith is a living example. It is the only way to show the Babylonian people the power of the living God. Daniel’s three friends show that God is the only One who is worthy of honor and worship. These three young men show the Babylonians that nothing can cause them to bow down and worship the statue. This story has many precious lessons for us in the last days.”—Ellen G. White, In Heavenly Places, page 149, adapted. At the end of time, we, too, will need to take a stand for our faith. The Bible shows us that Christians everywhere will have the same test of worship. Our lives will be in danger the same as Daniel’s three friends were. So, we need to study Daniel 3. It shows us the experience we will have in the end times. Sabbath School Lesson 4: https://bit.ly/3daswJt Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK3cziSY1Tc
