Adventist Church Continues to Advocate for Religious Protections in LGBT Civil Rights Legislation
General Conference Session is Moved from Indiana to Missouri; and other world news
ANN brings you the latest hope filled news: In the United States of America, the Executive Committee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church voted on February 17 to move the 2022 General Conference Session from Indianapolis, Indiana, to St. Louis, Missouri. The change was due to the unexpected report of place unavailability for the June 6-11, 2022 dates. The Mid-America Union and Lake Union Conference will collaborate in evangelism and mission before the meetings. The GC Session is the quinquennial business meeting of the denomination. In Australia, Adventist Media has been impacted by a fight between the social media platform Facebook and the Australian government. Facebook has banned the sharing of Australian news content on its platform, including content created for Adventist Record, Signs of the Times, and Mums at the Table. The social media blocked content on February 18 in response to the Australian government’s new Media Bargaining Bill that proposes that big tech companies pay media companies for news content. The event challenged Adventists to still be effective disciples in every area they can, sharing the good news of Jesus. (UPDATE: As of February 26, 2021, the eight-day blackout ended as Facebook and the Australian government reached an agreement.) In the North Caribbean Conference, the Seventh-day Adventist Church recently announced the acquisition of a radio station in partnership with Adventist World Radio. As the new owner of WGOD 97.9 FM, the Church will continue to serve a population of approximately 250,000, including about 16,000 church members. More studio equipment has been acquired to prepare for the transition, and they aim to refurbish the antenna to maximize the station's reach. Improvements in the existing building and hiring of personnel will begin in the coming months. Also, keep updated on the latest exciting Bible game app, Heroes II. Thanks for the “big tent” edition of the AT magazine.
26 February 2021 | Dear Editor, I have just about finished devouring the Winter edition of the Adventist Today magazine, and I do mean DEVOURING! Your editorial was right on target, as were the articles. I am totally in favor of the “29th Fundamental Belief” even though I know that it will only exist in […] Source: https://atoday.org/68071-2/
