Within the nearby bar, the owner, Eliah, began to listen and take an interest in the 'Rays of Hope' program being broadcast from Mama Miyembe's garden. Intrigued by the sermon, he found the channel on his own radio for a clearer listening experience. As he served his customers, he listened intently to the messages from the program. Soon, he was not the only one listening; the regular patrons, who came by for a drink, started to listen and ask questions. Ultimately, Eliah suggested they gather to listen to the radio instead of drinking to which they all agreed

One church in Tanzania decided to sponsor a 21-day sermon series called 'Rays of Hope'. The pastor encouraged the congregation to use this radio program as a witnessing tool and to share the messages with their friends and family. One of the members, Mama Yam Bay, took this to heart and began carrying her little radio with her everywhere she went. Her garden was located near the town's bar, and as she tended to her plants and vegetables, she would set down her radio and turn up the volume, allowing the messages to reach even more people
