Diana grew up in an abusive home—watching her parents fight and her mother suffer. The experience left deep scars in her heart, and she vowed to never marry an abuser. She found what she thought was a kind man who promised her love and security, but soon after their wedding, he showed his true colors. Diana quickly realized she was trapped in the same cycle of abuse as her mother. But unlike her mother, Diana decided to fight back. When infidelity was added to her husband’s abuse, she couldn’t take it anymore, and decided to leave her marriage. But the emotional burden she carried was so great that she turned to alcohol. Things spiraled out of control then, until one day, in her despair, she cried out to God, “Please help me! I need to heal but don’t know how!” Would God answer her plea? Was she beyond help?
