Marlene was just 11 years old when she ran away from home after a traumatic event. By 17, she was a mother, and she felt that life seemed to be looking up, until it wasn’t . . . as her world fell apart again. Filled with despair and unable to find a way out of her problems, she contemplated the unthinkable: Taking her life and that of her children. She couldn’t bear the thought of her own daughter facing the life of problems she’d faced. But then something unexpected happened.
