We were saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Lowe on 10 November 2021. Margaret was born on 18 July 1946 in Stockport, Cheshire. On 16 June 1968, Margaret married Pastor Eric Lowe and their union brought about Julie, Janet, James and Jonathan.
Margaret entered denominational service in January 1965 as a Nursery Teacher at Lauriston School. Death of Pastor Jerrold Volney Ham-Ying
We were saddened to learn of the death of Pastor Jerrold Volney Ham-Ying on 12 October 2021. Pastor Volney, as he was known, was born on 3 June 1955 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. On 1 January 1980 he married Karen Del-Marie.
Pastor Volney entered denominational employment within the British Union Conference in January 1980 as an Intern Pastor in what was then the North British Conference. In 1984 they moved to the South England Conference and in 1985 he began a four-year study leave.

Death of Joy Beardsell
We were saddened to learn of the death of Joy Beardsell on 30 October 2021. Joy was born on 12 December 1934 in Pretoria, South Africa, to Leonard and Hilda Barrett. On 7 August 1955, Joy married Dr Derek Beardsell and their union brought about Eileen, Beryl and Robert.
Joy entered denominational employment in 1954 as a secretary at Helderberg College. Reaffirming The Adventist Church’s Response to COVID-19
The apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Philippians, “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.”
