Friday: Further Thought – Covenantal Love

January 9, 2025 By admin

Daily Lesson for Friday 10th of January 2025

Read Ellen G. White, “The Privilege of Prayer,” Pages 93–104, in Steps to Christ.
Spectacles on Bible

“Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him. He who numbers the hairs of your head is not indifferent to the wants of His children. ‘The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.’ James 5:11. His heart of love is touched by our sorrows and even by our utterances of them. Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. No calamity can befall the least of His children, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer, no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest. ‘He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.’ Psalms 147:3. The relations between God and each soul are as distinct and full as though there were not another soul upon the earth to share His watchcare, not another soul for whom He gave His beloved Son.”—Ellen G. White, Steps to Christ, p. 100.

Discussion Questions

  1. Dwell on the sentence above: “The relations between God and each soul are as distinct and full as though there were not another soul upon the earth to share His watchcare, not another soul for whom He gave His beloved Son.” What comfort does this give you, and how should you live, knowing the closeness of God to you and His care for you? How can you learn to live with the reality of that wonderful promise? Imagine if, day by day, you could truly believe it.
  2. In light of this week’s lesson, how do you understand Psalms 103:17-18? What does it reveal about how God’s love is everlasting and yet how the benefits of a relationship with God are dependent upon whether we will accept His love?
  3. In what ways does knowing this make a difference in your relationship with God? How does it affect the way you think of the sorrows of others?

“God Can Make a Way!”

January 9, 2025 By admin

Ravo grew up amid the rice fields of Madagascar where her family toiled to make a living. When she was 17 years old, she left home and went to live with her uncle in the city so she could attend school. Her uncle had a television, but Ravo never liked the programs he watched and considered them a waste of time. Instead, she loved to look up educational presentations on her cell phone, and one day she discovered AWR’s Unlocking Bible Prophecies series with Cami Oetman. Soon she was hooked! She loved watching Cami and absorbed every truth-filled message. When she learned about the Sabbath truth, Ravo embraced it with all her heart. She loved the slogan Cami repeated with each presentation: If it’s in the Bible, I believe it. If it’s not in the Bible, it’s not for me. But soon her uncle learned of Ravo’s interest in these new beliefs, and he was not happy. You see, he was a Lutheran priest and well-known in the community. He had a reputation to maintain, and immediately ordered Ravo to drop her “strange new ideas.” But when Ravo refused to work on the Sabbath, it was too much for him. He declared, “No work, no food. If you don’t work, then you don’t eat!” What could Ravo do? If she could not remain with her uncle, she wouldn’t be able to finish her education and would have to return home a failure. But she could never give up the truths she’d discovered! Watch this video to see what happened next—because God can make a way even when we don’t see a way out, and He worked a miracle for Ravo. I love to see lives changed for God’s kingdom—and I especially love it when He uses Adventist World Radio to do it! Yours in the Blessed Hope, Duane McKey

Isaiah 42:10

January 9, 2025 By admin

Isaiah 42:10

Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them.

SATIRE: Kid Wonders Why Parents Have to Lock Door for “Prayer” Every Sabbath Afternoon

January 9, 2025 By admin

LOMA LINDA, Calif. — Eight-year-old Timmy Holbrook is starting to ask some uncomfortable questions about his parents’ Sabbath afternoon habits, sources close to the family report.
