Scales, Jr. William Clinton Scales, Jr., a pastor and evangelist who spent his life in service to the Lord, passed away on May 27, 2017, near Birmingham, Alabama. He was 82. Approximately 750 attended a celebration of his life and legacy on June 11, 2017, at Oakwood University Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Photo provided by Jesus 101 The Telly Awards has named Jesus 101 as a winner for the 38th Annual People’s Choice Telly Award for the program titled ” Chosen : The Marginalized Woman (The Bleeding Woman).” Jesus 101 is a media ministry of the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. “With more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor,” says Casey Tom, ministry manager of Jesus 101. Chosen is a Jesus 101 television series production that examines how people can trust God’s purpose for their lives.

**To share this story: Both IT teams from Southern Adventist Univeristy and Oakwood University meet on May 18, 2017, for a tour of the campus that highlights the areas managed and maintained by technology. Photo provided by Oakwood University Approximately 12 information technology staff from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee, came to Oakwood University on May 18 to meet with Oakwood’s IT team in Huntsville, Alabama, in a second-of-its-kind technology summit. “Technology teams for any organization are unique and face similar issues, struggles, and successes,” said Kirk Nugent, Oakwood’s chief information officer. “Tech teams in higher education are that much more specialized and benefit largely from interaction with peers. “The pairing of the IT staff from two Adventist universities isn’t just beneficial, but crucial, if for nothing else than to expose them to the reality they’re not alone in this fight,” he continued.
