13: The Triumph of God’s Love – Singing with Inspiration

June 23, 2024 By admin

Our learning this quarter will show us that
God Is Working His Purpose Out – Hymn 225 so that we will Lift Up The Trumpet because
Jesus Is Coming Again – Hymn 213. You may have two hymns from which to choose for your theme hymn this quarter.

Hymn 77 – O Love Of God Most Full opens our study this week with the last verse stating “because Thy love is near”, with Sabbath afternoon very clearly saying that
We Have This Hope – Hymn 214.

Sunday is full of amazing hymns to be sung:
Hymn 522 – My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less,
Hymn 5 – All My Hope On God Is Founded and
Hymn 440 – How Cheering Is The Christian’s Hope. We are then reminded that
In The Hour Of Trial – Hymn 491 “God’s people will be shielded” all because we have heeded
O Brother, Be Faithful – Hymn 602. “In the time of trouble, God’s people have a personal relationship with Jesus”:
Hymn 186 – I’ve Found a Friend and
Hymn 499 – What A Friend We Have In Jesus. We then finish the day’s study with
Hymn 608 – Faith Is The Victory.

The Lord Is Coming – Hymn 426 encourages us on Monday with our study time ensuring we can sing
I Shall See The King – Hymn 426 with the great knowledge that
There’ll Be No Dark Valley – Hymn 208 when Jesus comes. Hallelujah!

What a joy it will be to see
Jerusalem, My Happy Home – Hymn 420 (Friday) all because
O Love Of God Most Full – Hymn 77.

Please, dear one, be ready and waiting because
Jesus Is Coming Again – Hymn 213.

May we continue to search the scriptures this week to be blessed and to bless many others.

To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/

Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

13: The Triumph of God’s Love – Teaching Plan

June 23, 2024 By admin

Key Thought : In the most trying and exciting time in earth’s history, we see Christ’s steadfast love and triumph in the great controversy. Revelation gives us hope for today, tomorrow, and forever.
June 29, 2024

1. Have a volunteer read Revelation 22:11,12; Daniel 12:1,2; Jeremiah 30:5-7…

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on the most important point in this passage.
  2. What events occur just before the second advent?
  3. Personal Application: What do you think is your only sufficient preparation for the time of trouble? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of you relatives states, “What reassuring promises does God give us for the time of trouble? How do I know He will keep His promises for me personally?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read John 14:1-3; Titus 2:11-14.

  1. Ask class members to share their thoughts on the most important point in this text.
  2. Why are these verses so encouraging in light of the coming time of trouble and future challenges?
  3. Personal Application: What is the difference in the attitude of the saved and the lost in the last days? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “What if the close of probation catches me off guard or unaware? What if I’m not completely ready when probation ends? Is there any indication or event in the Bible that tells me when probation has closed?” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Revelation 20:1-3; Jeremiah 4:23-26; Jeremiah 25:33.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What is Satan’s fate when Jesus returns?
  3. Personal Application: How does Jeremiah describe this scene of the second coming aftermath? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “Why has God allowed sin to go on so long? It seems like things are getting worse and worse. Why doesn’t God step in and stop it now? What is He waiting for?” How would you respond to your neighbor?

4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 20:4-6, 7-9. 2 Peter 3:10-12.

  1. Ask class members to share their thoughts on the most important point in this text.
  2. What are the righteous doing during the thousand years and why is it important?
  3. Personal Application: How do the thousand years end? What is the fate of Satan and His followers? Where is hellfire? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).

A King Rebuked

June 22, 2024 By admin

And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. 2 Samuel 12:7.

As time passed on, David’s sin toward Bathsheba became known, and suspicion was excited that he had planned the death of Uriah. The Lord was dishonored. He had favored and exalted David, and David’s sin misrepresented the character of God and cast reproach upon His name. It tended to lower the standard of godliness in Israel, to lessen in many minds the abhorrence of sin; while those who did not love and fear God were by it emboldened in transgression.

Nathan the prophet was bidden to bear a message of reproof to David. It was a message terrible in its severity. To few sovereigns could such a reproof be given but at the price of certain death to the reprover. Nathan delivered the divine sentence unflinchingly, yet with such heaven-born wisdom as to engage the sympathies of the king, to arouse his conscience, and to call from his lips the sentence of death upon himself….

The guilty may attempt, as David had done, to conceal their crime from men; they may seek to bury the evil deed forever from human sight or knowledge; but “all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do” (Hebrews 4:13).38Ibid., 720, 721.

The prophet Nathan’s parable of the ewe lamb, given to King David, may be studied by all…. While he was following his course of self-indulgence and commandment breaking, the parable of a rich man who took from a poor man his one ewe lamb, was presented before him. But the king was so completely wrapped in his garments of sin, that he did not see that he was the sinner. He fell into the trap, and … passed his sentence upon another man, as he supposed, condemning him to death….

This experience was most painful to David, but it was most beneficial. But for the mirror which Nathan held up before him, in which he so clearly recognized his own likeness, he would have gone on unconvicted of his heinous sin, and would have been ruined. The conviction of his guilt was the saving of his soul. He saw himself in another light, as the Lord saw him, and as long as he lived he repented of his sin.39The S.D.A. Bible Commentary 2:1023.

Dear Friends,
As a teen, I had wanted to become an archaeologist, but with my allergies that was an impossible dream. I still watch many archeology programs though. I think of one program that I watched years ago that left me feeling upset and dissatisfied. In that program, a group of Egyptologists were going to visit a pyramid which had been demolished. The previews of the program gave the impression that it was the first time someone was going to go into its inner chambers. In my mind, I thought of all the wonderful items they would show us.
In reality, the pyramid had been ransacked long before. All that was there was the underground chambers now exposed to the elements. Most of the great stones had been carried away by the Romans and some by men of the nineteenth century. There were no artifacts left. Basically, they took what should have taken about twenty minutes to tell and stretched it into two hours. Yet, they did it in such a way that I kept anticipating something spectacular at the end. It never came. It left me feeling cheated and upset with myself for wasting two hours.
How much like the promises of this world. There are allurements on every side, but they leave us feeling empty, cheated, disillusioned. Jesus declares, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13 How very true. We may try to have the best of both worlds, but in the end, we find that we have lost everything. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36
John tells us, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 2:15-17; 5:4
May we “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Rom 12:2 May we shun the allurements of this world and say with Paul, “I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord.” Phil 3:8 May we “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” is my prayer. (vs 14)
