More than four hundred women from across Sydney came together dressed in white to make a stand against domestic violence at the recent “UNITED NIGHT 2020” held by Sydney Adventist women’s ministries on February 1.
“I love how the women respond[ed] by wearing white outfits in support of the anti-domestic violence movement. Together we stand as one, against any form of violence in our community,” said Women’s Ministries Director for the Greater Sydney Conference, Beryl Landers.

World Church leaders back creation of leadership institute
Solomon Maphosa worked as a pastor for three years in his native Zimbabwe before being asked to serve as conference stewardship director.
On the first day, the conference president prayed with Maphosa and showed him to his desk.
That was it.
Maphosa didn’t know what to do. He called around, but no one seemed able to help. He had to come up with his own ideas for how to work.
“No one held my hand. No one,” he recalled. “It was a swim-or-sink experience.”

East-Central Africa Division celebrates mission in Uganda
Delegates from the 11 countries that make up the East-Central Africa Division (ECD), recently joined together in Kampala, Uganda, to celebrate the mission achievements in the region. The Mission Extravaganza was held on the outskirts of Kampala, at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Namboole. Inside the stadium, praises and prayers could be heard from a distance, as the congregation listened to missionary reports, testimonies of salvation and future plans for mission.

World Church offerings funds local projects
Plans for two mobile medical clinics, Hope TV and radio studios, and an animated children’s series have got the green light after the South Pacific Division (SPD) received funds through a 2019 world Church offering.
The SPD received more than $880,000USD ($A1,329,580) from the third quarter 13th Sabbath offering for projects put forward by the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) and the Australian Union Conference (AUC).
