1. The beast from the sea.  Do you ever feel anger and hostility toward the devil with all of his sinful and harmful ways? To open this week’s lesson, we see a frightening creature lunging from the sea to usher in Satan when he was aroused in infamy to his most vigorous work since the death of Jesus. Explain why the beast was so sure that he was stronger than Jesus, and that of course, it was his job and not God’s to choose human beings to administer salvation and forgiveness.

9: Satan and His Allies – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath afternoon we are given a caution about prophecies in the future. Keep courage, dear people of God, because “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”, Hymn 506. There are many beasts in the study of Revelation, but only One King we worship: Hymn 6, “O Worship the Lord” and Hymn 83, “O Worship the King”. The studies of Revelation encourage us to “Look for the Waymarks”, Hymn 596 , with this happening again in this week’s studies. Our Lord and Saviour stands by us each second of our lives and cheering us on life’s journey: Hymn 440, “How Cheering Is the Christian’s Hope”.

Monday: The Activities of the Sea Beast

Revelation 13:5  specifies a time period of persecution that we talked about in yesterday’s study. The 42 months of the beast’s activities is the same time period as the 1,260 days/years of the persecution of the woman/church in  Revelation 12:6 ,  Revelation 12:14 .  (A prophetic day symbolizes a year [ Num. 14:34 ,  Ezek. 4:6 ]. See  Tuesday’s study in Lesson 7 )
