Commentary by Mark Finley:
"Genesis 9 features the covenant that God made with Noah and his descendants until the end of time. Note carefully that this Covenant is all about what God would do not what Noah promised to do. It is about the unchangeable promise of God not the feeble promises of man. It has everything to do with God’s word not man’s. The covenant is based on God’s grace and mercy not man’s initiative. The rainbow is the sign of the everlasting covenant that God would never destroy this world with a flood again. But there is something deeper here. In the Bible, the rainbow is associated with God’s throne room. (See Ezekiel 1:28, Revelation 4:3, and 10:1) It may well represent God’s justice and mercy, His grace and power, His compassion and strength. It is a promise of His protection and deliverance. The rainbow is a reflection of God’s character and a sign of His divine presence. The next time you see a rainbow remember the God who sits on the throne of the universe and directs not only of the destiny of this world but guides your life too." β€οΈ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/9 Our accounts in other social networks:

Commentary by Mark Finley:
"Think of what it must have been like in the ark during those stormy forty days and forty nights. As the thunder crashed, the lightening flashed and huge waves pummeled the ark, Noah and his family must have experienced heart pounding, stomach wrenching fear. Yet in spite of their anxiety they rested by faith in God’s protecting hand. With calm assurance they trusted in the midst of the storm. They knew that God had not forgotten them. They were confident that His watchful eye was on them as the ark was tossed upon the stormy billows. The first four words of Genesis 8 ring with assurance. “Then God remembered Noah.”(Verse 1) In the storms of life God does not forget us. In the trials of life we are not left alone. In life’s greatest challenges, we are not cosmic orphans. In the difficulties of life, He is there. The same God who led Noah and his family into the ark protected them while they were there and led them out into a bright new future. When we accept God’s Word by faith, obey His commands, and do His will, He too will lead us into a future filled with hope." β€οΈ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/8 Our accounts in other social networks:

Commentary by Mark Finley:
"Genesis 7 begins with a familiar Biblical expression. The Lord says to Noah, “Come into the ark…”(verse 1) Throughout scripture “Come” is Heaven’s divine invitation. Jesus invites us to “Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) The last chapter of the Bible’s last book, Revelation, gives us this gracious invitation, “And the Spirit and bride say “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” and let him who thirsts come…” (Revelation 22:17) Jesus adds, “…the one who comes to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) God’s invitation to Noah to “Come into the ark” was an invitation to salvation, security, and deliverance. It was a promise of His care today, tomorrow and forever. It gave Noah hope in the midst of the chaos of this world. Jesus divine invitation gives us hope too. In the Ark of His safety we find salvation, security and deliverance.
In a few sentences why not share how you have found in Jesus an ark of safety?" β€οΈ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/7 Our accounts in other social networks:

Commentary by Mark Finley:
"Genesis 6 records the story of the worldwide flood. Suppose you were Noah. What confidence it must have taken in God to begin building the ark against overwhelming odds. Noah not only began, he persisted for one hundred and twenty years building the ark. Think of the ridicule he endured. It had never rained before. Was this man crazy? The size of the undertaking was remarkable. What a task to cut the lumber and hoist it into position on this massive boat. Yet scripture says, “Thus Noah did according to all that God commanded Him….” (Genesis 6:22) What faith! What courage! There is another aspect of this story that is extremely significant. God declares that He will “establish His Covenant” with His people. God’s Covenant is His promise of His faithfulness and salvation. In the midst of the storm, God prepared an ark of safety. Jesus is our shelter in times of storm, our ark of safety, our refuge in times of trouble. What incredible good news– God’s Covenant is His eternal guarantee of our security in the ark of His grace." β€οΈ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/6 Our accounts in other social networks:

Commentary by Mark Finley:
"Genealogies may not be the most interesting chapters in the Bible but they are filled with spiritual insights for the diligent student of scripture. One obvious fact in Genesis 5 is that Adam’s descendants lived long ages. It was common for these patriarchs to live for nine hundred years. Today if someone lives to one hundred we celebrate it as a grand achievement but Adam lived to 930, his son Seth lived to 912, and Methuselah to 969. This reveals a vital truth about God. Our Creator designed human beings to live forever. He created us with a certain vital force which even centuries after sin remained. What a mighty God He is. Here is another spiritual gem from Genesis 5. Enoch lived sixty five years and he and his wife had a baby boy who they named Methuselah. The Bible then explicitly states, “After he begot Methuselah, he (Enoch) walked with God…” (Genesis 5:22) Enoch’s love for his child revealed God’s deep love from him. It is through the deep bonds that bind us together with those we love that God’s love is fully revealed.
What spiritual gems do you find in this chapter? Why not share them with others on our blog?" β€οΈ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/5 Our accounts in other social networks:
