Bob was an intrepid mountain logger, fearless and daring—a real man’s man. He had no use for religion or the things of God, so when his boss asked him an innocuous question, he was surprised by what happened next. Now, Bob’s boss wasn’t a religious man either, so when he asked Bob to explain the Bible text where Jesus asks, “Who do you say that I am?” it bothered Bob that he should have to explain something he knew nothing about. Yet all throughout the day, he found himself mulling over the question. After work, on his way home, he accidentally ran over a chicken. On any other day, Bob wouldn’t have cared. He would’ve simply thrown the animal in the bed of his pickup and had the bird for dinner! But instead, he stopped the truck and went in search of the owner to pay for the chicken.
