12: Earth’s Closing Events – Teaching Plan

June 16, 2024 By admin

Key Thought: The prophetic messages of Daniel and Revelation are messages to help us through life’s storms. The purpose of Christ’s life, death, resurrection, and ministry in Heaven’s sanctuary is to ensure we get home.
June 22, 2024

1. Have a volunteer read Proverbs 23:23; John 8:32; 17:17; 2 Peter 1:16-21.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on the most important point in this passage.
  2. What common thread runs through these verses?
  3. Personal Application: What assurance does Peter give regarding prophecy? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of you relatives states, “What will give us courage and strength to stand in the final crisis? What distracts us from studying God’s word/ Can we compromise truth for personal pleasure?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 7:1,2; 14:1; 13:16,17.

  1. Ask class members to share their thoughts on the most important point in this text.
  2. Where are the seal of God and the mark of the beast received? Why do you think these is a difference?
  3. Personal Application: Why is daily faithfulness to the Lord the key to preparing for the final crisis? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “How do you know that the Sabbath is the seal of God? What elements of a seal are in the Sabbath commandment? What Scriptures show that the Sabbath is a sign or seal from God?” How would you respond to your friend?
    (Note – Ezekiel 20:12, 20:20, Isaiah 8:16,20, Exodus 31:13-17))

3. Have a volunteer read Joel 2:21-24; Acts 2:1-4; 41-47.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What prediction was fulfilled in the first century? What impact did it have?
  3. Personal Application: Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “How will the work of God on earth be finished? What does it mean by the terms “early rain” and “latter rain”?” How would you respond to your neighbor?

4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 18:1-4; Habbakkuk 2:14; Matthew 24:14.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. How do these verses say that God’s work on earth will be finished?
  3. Personal Application: What is holding back the mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the latter rain, and the loud cry? How can we be open and receptive to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).

Monday: Sealed for Heaven

June 16, 2024 By admin

Daily Lesson for Monday 17th of June 2024

In the coming crisis over worship, God’s faithful people will not yield to worldly pressures (Revelation 14:12). They will be sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30) and cannot be moved. In ancient times, seals attested to the authenticity of official documents. They were a distinctive, individualized mark. Since the final conflict centers on worship and God’s authority as revealed in His law, we would expect God’s seal to be embedded in His law (compare Isaiah 8:16).

Read Exodus 20:8-11. What elements of a seal are contained in the Sabbath commandment?

The Seal of God

Here we have three elements of an authentic seal: (1) the name to whom the seal belongs, “the Lord thy God;” (2) His title, the One who “made”—the Creator; (3) and His territory, “heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is.” A seal is sometimes called a sign in the Bible (Romans 4:11). The two words are interchangeable. As God’s sign or seal in the heart of God’s law, the Sabbath is at the center of the final conflict over worship (Ezekiel 20:12,20; Revelation 12:17).

Compare Revelation 7:1-2 and Revelation 14:1 with Revelation 13:16-17. Where are the seal of God and the mark of the beast received? Why do you think there is a difference?

The seal of God is placed on the forehead. The forehead is a symbol of the mind and represents a conscious decision.

The mark of the beast is received either in the forehead or in the hand indicating that people are convinced intellectually and by their own choice accept Satan’s lies or, alternatively, they conform to false worship to avoid being killed.

The devil hates those who are obedient to God. The great controversy comes to a climax when the dragon (Satan) wages war on the believing remnant, who “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12, NKJV). They are settled in their loyalty to Christ.

Why is day-by-day faithfulness to the Lord the key to being prepared when the final crisis arrives?
