This week Pastor Ted Wilson discusses chapter six of The Great Controversy, entitled “Huss and Jerome.” John Huss and Jerome of Prague were forerunners of the Reformation. Their work spread across Bohemia—a country now known as the Czech Republic—and beyond as they brought the saving truths found in Scripture to thousands in Europe. A primary teaching of Huss and Jerome regarded the scripture and went directly against the teaching of the Catholic Church, and before long, these reformers felt the wrath of Rome. Because they refused to recant and renounce their beliefs, both Huss and Jerome met the martyr’s fate, where now stands a stone in remembrance of them. Church – The Purpose
As God’s people, God’s church, we have been organized for a very specific purpose – to finish the work Christ began when He walked this earth. God is waiting for us to be His hands and His feet as we go about ministering to others. He is waiting for us to stand up and proclaim the everlasting gospel to every person in this world. Are you doing your part? The Lord has a very specific role He wants YOU to play in fulfilling this great mission to spread His message of love far and wide. Seek His presence and ask God to reveal His perfect will for your life. Then, follow His leading as He leads you to shine His light in this dark world. End of the World – There’s Work to Do
As the final days of Earth’s history approach, God has committed a very special and specific work to His people. “If there was ever a people in need of constantly increasing light from heaven, it is the people that, in this time of peril, God has called to be the depositaries of His holy law and to vindicate His character before the world” (Counsels to the Church, p.345). We are called to vindicate the character of God before the entire world. Are you reflecting His character? Are you upholding the principles of heaven? What can you do, now, today, to reflect your Maker and bring others to His kingdom?
