September 5 marks the beginning of the “Family Togetherness Week of Prayer.” In this video, Pastor Ted Wilson and his wife, Nancy, discuss the role of the family in evangelism. God created the first family in the Garden of Eden. Since then, the family has been the building block of society and the church of God. But did you know that it could be a powerful witness for God? On page 32 of The Adventist Home, it says: "The greatest evidence of the power of Christianity that can be presented to the world is a well-ordered, well-disciplined family. This will recommend the truth as nothing else can, for it is a living witness of its practical power upon the heart." Well-ordered, well-disciplined family – sounds like a very high ideal, right? As human beings who fall short, it seems impossible to achieve that. But God doesn’t ask us to do the impossible. He said, "Whatever is to be done at His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enablings" (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 333). The Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy provide us with plenty of instructions about having a happy, God-filled home. But practicing it is not that easy. This is why we need to be close to God through Bible study and prayer. Also, ask for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit daily. By then, we can have the fruit of the Spirit. According to Galatians 5:22, 23, it is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law." Having this fruit, we can learn and grow in Christ and become effective witnesses for Him. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFpqXpNOq-s
Did you know that God has a place for you in His community?
Did you know that God has a place for you in His community? In this video, learn the biblical concept of unity concerning our mission. Have you been to a big gathering such as a concert? When something amazes you, you begin to clap, cheer, or yell. Altogether, the attendees make a random noise, which eventually becomes a united cadence. In connection, unity is biblical. Specifically, the church is the body of Christ. You represent one of its various parts, united with others in the same goal and mission. As such, you always have a place in His community. Learn More About the Lord’s Supper
Communion is a ritual reminding us of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection through eating and drinking. But there is more to it than that. It also involves a beautiful act of symbolic service: washing each other's feet like Jesus washed those of his disciples at the Last Supper. Think you know all about the Last Supper? Test your knowledge by watching this video. Blog: https://www.ibelievebible.com/the-last-supper/ ___

Abram La Rue. How Was He Able To Put God First in Everything?
Do you know Abram La Rue, the first Adventist pioneer worker in China? In this video, get to know this humble missionary. Specifically, learn how putting God first helped him bring the present truth in China. In 1883, at the age of 65, Abram was a shepherd and woodcutter in California. He envisioned bringing the gospel to China. La Rue wrote to the General Conference, asking for assistance. However, they said he was too old. Besides, they didn’t have enough money to send him. Despite this, Abram determined to go. So, he negotiated his way by ship to Hong Kong. Arriving in 1888, he began working as a colporter for the next 14 years. Until 1902, he stood alone. Fortunately, in February that year, Brother and Sister J. N. Anderson and Miss Ida Thompson arrived to help him. Soon, nine people got baptized through Abram’s efforts. Eventually, the present truth was then ready to be brought to China’s mainland. Despite the difficulties, Abram survived those 14 years carrying on his pioneering work. Unfortunately, he died in 1903. Nevertheless, his contributions laid the foundation for the entry of Adventism in China. Indeed, Abram put God first even when others didn’t believe in him. His courage inspires us today as God’s redeeming love compels us to put His kingdom first. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbSdee2OC_k
