Our theme of: Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel” commences the study this week as many Hellenistic believers went about “bearing witness to the entire world”. Hymn 346, “Lord, Who Dost Give to Thy Church” is what was requested by the early church believers for all who were involved in spreading the gospel. We may also sing: Hymn 368, “Watchman, Blow the Gospel Trumpet” . The apostles went about teaching and preaching.

This week we commence with seeing just how the home of each Christian is important in sharing, and in spreading the love of Jesus: Hymn 651, “Happy the Home That Welcomes You”, Hymn 655, “Happy the Home” and Hymn 654, “Lord, Bless Our Homes”. Sunday gives us another view of Acts in fellowship: Hymn 469, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” and Hymn 350, “Blest Be the Ties That Bind” On Monday Ellen White says: “The sinner must be led to look to Calvary….” Hymn 317, “Lead Me to Calvary” where there is salvation for all: Hymn 646, “To the Name That Brings Salvation”.

The Bible verse that has been used for this quarter’s theme for Singing with Inspiration is this week’s memory text: Matthew 24:27 – “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” along with the hymn theme that has been suggested for this quarter: Hymn 633, “When We All Get to Heaven” . As we await our Lord’s return: Hymn 617, “We are Living, We are Dwelling” , but Hymn 214, “We Have This Hope” , we are Hymn 518, “Standing on the Promises” . Our name Seventh-day Adventist is summed up in this week’s lesson with The Return of Our Lord Jesus

This week’s study theme commenced with a flood of hymns having “Christ as the Centre”: Hymn 185, “Jesus is all the World to Me” , Hymn 305, “Give Me Jesus” , Hymn 329, “Take the World, but Give Me Jesus ”, Hymn 577, “In the Heart of Jesus ”, culminating in Hymn 309, “I Surrender All”. Hymn 518, “Standing on the Promises” reflects the study in Monday where we are “Standing on the sola Scriptura ”. The meaning of the cross is revealed on Tuesday : Hymn 312, “Near The Cross” , Hymn 163, “At the Cross” , Hymn 307, “I Am Coming to the Cross” .

Our memory text brings to us the third verse of: Hymn 547, Be Thou My Vision singing “Riches, I heed not..” We are then encouraged to fight in the armor and power of God which is shown in: Hymn 448, “O, When Shall I See Jesus” in verse 2. This also appears in: Hymn 572, “Give of Your Best to the Master” . Sunday’s study points directly to: Hymn 329, “Take the Word, but Give Me Jesus” as does the title for thi s week.
