My Moment of Truth

Ed Keyes (Nevada-Utah Conference President) knew he had met his match when his daughter told him that if he didn’t change his ways, he might not be around to play with his grandkids. Ed works for the Seventh-day Adventist church and knows all about the Adventist heath “advantage” where many Adventists are able to extend their lives approximately seven years beyond the average American, through a healthy, balanced lifestyle. But he wasn’t living it. Weighing in at over 300 pounds, Ed knew that something had to be done.

Russian-American Ministries to L.A. and Beyond

A huge challenge that makes sharing the gospel difficult with people everywhere is the diverse language groups that exists at home and abroad. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, LA has 39 different languages groups that reside within the greater metropolitan area. And in the midst of this sea of diversity is a Russian speaking population that is approximately 450,000 strong. Anatoliy Gurduiala, Pastor of the Russian-American Seventh-day Adventist Church in Glendale, Calif., spends his waking hours praying, planning and laboring for his fellow Russian speaking neighbors and friends. It is a large assignment, to say the least.
