World Church President sets tone for Inter-America year-end meetings

The Inter-American Division’s (IAD) Year-End Meetings began with prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, a rich harvest of new members in 2019 and for the return of members who have left the church. More than 120 top leaders representing the 24 unions and 42 countries and islands that comprise the IAD territory gathered for the meetings which took place this week Nov. 11-12, 2018, in Petionville, Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Adventist student named Wildlife Warrior of the Year

Molly Henry, a year 8 student at Central Coast Adventist School (CCAS), has been invited to the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner in Brisbane on November 10 where she will receive the award from Australia Zoo and the Steve Irwin Foundation for her conservation projects and efforts. The team at Australia Zoo told Molly’s mum Melinda that Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin, who will present the award, personally picked Molly, as she has been a stand out individual among the Wildlife Warrior group.

Young Moldova Adventists host NEWSTART health expo

Every year on October 14, Tiraspol, Moldova residents take to the streets, celebrating their city’s birthday. City authorities plan special events for citizens to enjoy during the holiday, and Tiraspol Adventists typically host a NEWSTART health exhibition as their contribution to the celebration.

Prison Ministry promotes social reintegration of inmates

Prison is home to nearly 725,000 of Brazil’s population according to a survey by the department of pastoral care in prisons released in September 2018. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the system has about half that number.

Drivers and onlookers are prayed for during breast cancer awareness outreach

Dozens of prayers and gifts were offered to drivers and onlookers who took the time to stop during a Breast Cancer Awareness outreach activity led by Inter-American Division (IAD) staff outside the IAD headquarter offices in Miami, Florida, last week.
