Pathfinders unstoppable at Australian camporee

More than 2800 Pathfinders from across Australia started the new year with fun, friends and faith at the Australian Union Conference’s (AUC) fourth camporee.
Kicking off on January 1, the 119 clubs were warmly welcomed at the opening ceremony by AUC director of youth ministries Pastor Jeff Parker, who officially opened the camporee. Other special guests included SPD youth director Dr Nick Kross, AUC president Pastor Jorge Munoz, and Victorian Conference president Pastor Graeme Christian.

In recent years these countries, among others, have experienced an influx of refugees that has created a huge need of basic services for displaced people. AdventistHelp,1 a supporting ministry, and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA)2 have partnered in all three of these regions to provide critical medical care. Sydney Adventist Hospital best in NSW for outpatient cancer services

Sydney Adventist Hospital’s outpatient cancer services are the best performing in NSW, according to a survey of more than 11,000 patients from 50 public and private clinics.
The Bureau of Health Information survey was released last week. In 25 of the measures surveyed the San’s Integrated Cancer Centre was “significantly more positive” than the NSW average.

Adventist Health leaders meet government representative in Fiji

Representatives of the Seventh-day Adventist Church recently met with Dr. Isimeli Tukana, who serves as non-communicable diseases advisor to the government of Fiji.
Trans Pacific Union Mission health director, Dr. Paul Wood, and Fiji Mission health director, Dr. Alipate Vakamocea, met with Dr. Tukana to see how the Church and government can continue to tackle the huge problem of lifestyle diseases, which have reached epidemic levels in the Pacific.
