On behalf of the entire North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, I would like to let our members and the citizens on the island of Guam know that our concern and prayers are with you. We take solace in the words of Mark 13:7: “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed”; and Matthew 28:20: “And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Scrumptious dairy and chocolate free fudge.
2 C (1-12 oz pkg) carob chips
1 C all natural peanut/almond/cashew butter
1 C rinsed raisins
1 C thinly sliced almonds,or coarsely chopped pecans
1 C shredded unsweetened coconut
Soak the raisins in hot water. Over low heat,in a thick bottomed quart sauce pan, heat together carob chips and nut butter. When melted, remove from heat and quickly stir in remaining ingredients. Pat immediately on a cookie sheet, 1/2 inch thick. Freeze 20 minutes. Cut into 1 inch squares. Store in zip lock bags in freezer. Serve cold.

Scrumptious and a so entirely healthy breakfast dish.
1 C cooked rice (may substitute other cereals)
1 C pineapple juice
1/2 C water
1/4 C walnuts
1/4 C cashews
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
6 C cooked rice
1 C chopped dried fruit
1 1/2 C pineapple juice
1/4 C cashews
1/4 C walnuts
2 C crushed pineapple
2 apples, chopped in bite size pieces
Blend first seven ingredients in blender. Mix remaining ingredients in a large bowl and pour blended mixture over top. Stir well and chill several hours.
Servings: 6

A delicious hot drink to warm you on a cold day.
1/3 C turbinado sugar or sucanat
1/4 C carob powder
1/4 C Roma
Dash of salt
1/3 C water
1 qt your favorite soy or rice milk
3/4 tsp alcohol-free vanilla
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Pour into saucepan and heat slowly. Adjust to taste and serve.
Servings: 4-6
