Making lunch took some work for Alejandro Gonzales Qquerar, a farmer and father of four children in Peru.
First, he needed to dig a hole in the ground. Then he would place wood and stones into the hole and light a fire. When the flames caused the stones to turn red and then black, he would throw some potatoes on top of them. ADRA collaborates to train mental health provides in Sint Maarten

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the Caribbean recently co-hosted psycho-social training for mental health professionals in St. Maarten to assist in building community resilience as the island still recovers from three hurricanes that hit last year. The training became the third major intervention by ADRA on the island, ADRA leaders said.

Vanuatu MP opens Adventist music festival in Efate

A Vanuatu member of parliament postponed important appointments to attend and officially open the 7th Adventist Music Festival of Efate, running from June 7 to 11. 
This annual gospel singing event was initiated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2012 to celebrate the Adventist movement in Vanuatu.

ADRA officially opens first water kiosk in Mozambique

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) officially launched on June 12 its first safe water kiosk in Mocuba, Mozambique, which will provide 20 liters a day of safe water for more than 1,000 people. Mocuba, a district of the Zambezia province in Mozambique, has suffered from inadequate safe water supply for years, but the prolonged drought conditions in Southern Africa has made the situation far worse.
