National camp celebrates 40 years of impact

More than 200 Indigenous Australians gathered together in Victor Harbor, South Australia, for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ministries (ATSIM) national camp from January 16-21.
From Geraldton (WA) to Kuranda (Qld), from the Finke and Tennant Creek (NT) to Port Augusta (SA), from Hammond Island in the Torres Strait to Tasmania, and everywhere in between, they flew, caught buses and drove great distances to gather in the beautiful coastal town. Mail Company issues commemorative stamps for the 60th anniversary of Pathfinders in Brazil

Correios, a Brazilian mailing company, launched eight exclusive stamps for participants of the 5th South American Pathfinder Camporee recently held in Barretos, Sao Paulo. The series commemorates the 60th anniversary of the first Pathfinder Club in Brazil, established in 1959.

Australian dad part of an international film project

Australia is part of a Seventh-day Adventist international film project that puts a spotlight on the role of fathers.
Adventist businessman and father-of-two Justin Stafford is one of six dads featured in Fathers, an intercultural documentary initiated by Adventist media entities in Europe.
The film’s director Adrian Dure said the project is all about creating content that can inspire, motivate and orient families, and show the importance of fathers in today’s society.

Roscoe J. Howard, former NAD Executive Secretary, passes to his rest

Roscoe J. Howard, former North American Division (NAD) executive secretary, passed away in Apopka, Florida, on Jan. 21, 2019, after a struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Howard was working as vice president for Missions for Adventist Health System (now AdventHealth) when, in 2015, he was diagnosed with ALS, a progressive nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function. He was 64.

Church Territory in East-Central Africa Surpasses 4 Million Members

In his report to the members of the Executive Committee of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of Seventh-day Adventists, Executive Secretary Alain Coralie stated that the territory now has more than four million members. His report included the fact that at the beginning of third quarter 2015, membership was 3,116,320. ECD membership now stands at 4,097,347.
